About half of the books on the bookshelves of bookstores are the ones bound with Asahi Melt adhesives.
The Asahi Melt adhesive is a white adhesive that bonds the text and cover of books.
Used books are regenerated into recycled paper. If the hot melt adhesive is ground (or disintegrated) in the regeneration process, the old paper becomes unfit to be used as regenerated paper. But please rest assured that many of the Asahi Melt adhesives are certified by the Japan Adhesive Industry Association to be hardly-disintegratable hot melt adhesives.
If you wish to make an easy-to-open book, save energy in book making, or use a hot melt adhesive that does not emit odor or soot, for example, please feel free to contact us.
